Scents can awaken our warmest memories, transporting us back to cherished moments and filling our hearts with joy, 1983

Scents from memory…

“The sound of the mosque’s call at dawn and the fresh fragrance of my mother’s powder after her bath gently waking us up.”

For as long as I can remember, our family holidays often took us to Songkhla. We would stay overnight, rising early to visit Padang Besar, a bustling border town. The market was alive with the chatter of vendors, the vibrant sights and unfamiliar scents of foreign sweets, the vivid colors of fresh fruits from Penang, and the joyfulness of youth. It wasn’t just a marketplace but a living testament to civilization and history – a place where memories were made.

As time takes us further from home, familiar scents and the feelings they evoke become cherished memories, offering comfort and solace in a world that continues to evolve.

Karmakamet’s scent collection, “Le Marche Aux Fruits Padang Bazaar,” captures this warmth and vibrancy, drawing inspiration from love and nostalgia.
